What is paint stripping?
Paint stripping is a set of processes that are applied on objects that have their own life cycle. The term “processing” must be understood as a synonym of service, or an activity aimed at using, transporting, manipulating, maintaining, reconditioning, or disposing of an object and not building it.
What objects and needs are we talking about?
All painted objects may have to undergo a paint stripping process, for different reasons, in particular:
- Metallic (and non-metallic) objects intended to be recovered for their primary use by removing paint and other residues
- Metallic (and not metallic) objects that are melted for the recovery of metal
WHAT IS THE NEED FULFILLED BY CSI?
All the objects of the 3 categories have different and separate histories, which are depending on many factors. What unites the mentioned cases is the need they have for the stripping process, which allows the objects to enter the processing cycle separated by paint and / or resins reacquiring an initial economic value.
With regard to finished metal objects intended for the end customer, the only possible need for paint stripping arises after having been subjected to the CONFORMITY CHECK when the company decides which products are compliant and which are not. The hypothesis of recovery and the consequent paint stripping is the only alternative to the decision to declassify the painted object and subsequent disposal.
